2020 Bob’s At Home Edition

May 14, 2020
It has become a rite of passage.  Every May 14th my favorite beer, Georgetown Brewing Bob’s Brown Ale, is released. It is simply refereed to as  “Bob’s Day” in our household.  It is not only a delicious beer but all proceeds go to the Ronald McDonald House in honor of their friend “Bob”.
I’ll be honest, I never met Bob, but I’m always willing to support a good charity. Especially when all it takes is drinking beer and buying beer swag.
Enter 2020, and the year of COVID-19. Bob’s Day is here, and there is no new Bob’s Brown Ale, for now. Georgetown had postponed the release, here is their statement.
It is with heavy hearts that we have decided to postpone our annual Bob’s Brown Ale release this year. We’ve talked about pushing it out later into the year, but with so much uncertainty, we are going to take a wait and see approach. Until then, be sure to raise a pint, any pint, to Bob on his birthday on May 14th!
Or so it seems.
Low and behold I still have a growler of 2019 Bob’s in the Beer Fridge and my amazing wife hand embroidered a one of a kind 2020 Bob’s At Home shirt.  So tonight, I will be tipping back a pint of Bob’s Brown Ale in honor of Bob.
I have also made a donation to the Ronald McDonald House Charities of Western Washington and Alaska in honor of Bob.  I encourage you to do the same, if you can.
Cheers to Bob!
